Verse 36

Verse 40

Verse 77

Summary:

Surah Yassin, sometimes called the “heart of the Quran,” is concerned with confirming the veracity of God’s revelation and the inevitability of Judgment Day. It starts by defining Muhammad’s position as a prophet and emphasizing the divine nature of the Quran. The surah tells the history of earlier prophets who were rejected and reminds the people of Makkah of their own disbelieving.

It points to the truth of resurrection, God’s incredible power, and the necessity of being responsible for our deeds. In spite of the derision and contempt from unbelievers, the surah assures us that God’s decision will be prompt, just, and in proportion to our acts. It reminds mankind, in the end, that God is both the Sustainer and the Creator who can restore life to the dead and make things happen according to His will by a mere utterance.
